Davie Weir claims Rangers are finally ready to get their hands back on the Premiership trophy - for the first time since he lifted it for them almost ten years ago.Weir led Walter Smith’s team to the title at Rugby Park in 2011 before the Ibrox club was plunged into a catastrophic financial meltdown and a new start in the bottom tier of the SPFL.But Steven Gerrard’s side cemented pole position in this season’s race for the top flight with a derby day win at Parkhead on Saturday and now Weir believes his old club is finally ready to make a genuine claim on Celtic’s crown.
And, speaking exclusively to Record Sport, the Rangers Hall of Fame inductee insisted Gerrard and his players appear to have learned from the lessons which caused last.
