David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

David Beckham has been approached to support Manchester United takeover bids ahead of Friday's deadline for interested parties.

The Red Devils have been put up for sale by the Glazer family, who have set a deadline of Friday for bidders to come forward and meet their £6billion valuation.

According to The Telegraph, several potential bidders have approached Beckham to front their bids and endorse their deals in an attempt to boost their chances of buying the club.However, it is understood that Beckham has turned down the requests and will not be attaching himself to any specific bids to buy the club.READ MORE: Elon Musk was at Super Bowl with Rupert Murdoch who once tried to buy Man Utd tooThe former United winger had been identified as a long-term asset by several interested parties, due to his connection to the club from his playing days.Beckham has instead rejected any approaches, though, and will not be involved in the takeover process, even if the Qatari-backed bid emerges as a frontrunner.

The 47-year-old has an ambassadorial role with the Middle East nation, which he started ahead of the World Cup.As well as the Qatari investors, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and a host of American consortiums are expected to table bids before the deadline later this week.
