Liverpool's "monster" attacking team - but appears to have forgotten about Bayern Munich-bound Sadio Mane. Nunez has become the Reds' new club-record £85million transfer from Benfica, surpassing the £75m transfer record fee the club had paid for Virgil van Dijk from Southampton back in 2018.
The Uruguayan has committed his future to Anfield for the next six years following an initial fee of £64m which is due to rise with add-ons.As he prepares to join his new team mates ahead of pre-season next month, Nunez left a special mention to the attackers he will be playing alongside. "[I'm] hugely excited.
Like I said before, there are some top, top players here with great qualities," the 22-year-old told the club website. "There is [Roberto] Firmino, who's a great player and then [Diogo] Jota, who is another great striker; Luis Diaz, [Mohamed] Salah.
To play alongside these 'monsters' is going to be something really special for me because as a kid you dream of going far and I dreamt of being able to play in Europe but I didn't expect to get as far as a great club like Liverpool."I can tell you, I'm really enjoying it so far and enjoying being here with my partner.
