Just days afterwards, Nisbet stepped up at Hampden to hit a crucial penalty in the Scottish Cup semi-final derby against Hearts – only to see it hit the bar as Jack Ross’ side lost 2-1.
With the help of his manager and team-mates, he has somehow managed to stay focused on football. And one Easter Road pal, Darren McGregor, has been key to that support.
