The project was announced following the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas on May 24, with the company claiming that the drones would "help prevent the next Uvalde, Sandy Hook, or Columbine".Smith originally came up with the idea in a sci-fi graphic novel he wrote in 2019.
When Smith originally announced the plans, he said: "Today, the only viable response to a mass shooter is another person with a gun.
