Covid shut-downs hit school lessons in Dumfriesshire

Hundreds of primary school pupils in Dumfriesshire have been forced to miss lessons because of temporary closures due to Covid since returning from the summer holidays.

However, in most cases it has been less than a week and the reason was more likely because of staff shortages than children contracting the virus.
