A couple have been told to cough up £1,600 to remove a mountain of fly-tipped rubbish from their pub car park - that is not even theirs.
Mark and Rebecca Poole bought The Ash Inn, in Mow Cop, Staffordshire, in February and had been due to reopen in May following a refurbishment.
That has now been delayed until Saturday, July 4 due to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions. But they have been haunted by the rubbish which was in a skip when they bought the pub and has since been dumped, reports StokeonTrentLive.
They say an agreement was in place to remove the skip within two weeks of the sale going through - but that didn't happen. They say they have been quoted £500 and then £1,600 to remove the skip.
