Corrie's Colson Smith flooded with support from co-stars after brave confession

Coronation Street's Colson Smith is currently appearing in ITV's new show The Games and after making a candid confession, his co-stars have been flooding him with support.One of his co-stars has even gone as far as to call him their hero after taking on the huge challenge.The Games originally began on Channel 4 but ITV commissioned its reboot.The show seeing 12 celebs train and coach for three months to then take on the challenge of competing in Olympic-style events including weight lifting, swimming and diving.Hosted by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff, the celebs will rack up points to place in either bronze, silver or gold with a male and female winner at the end of the week.The second episode saw Colson Smith compete in Men's Freestyle where Colson admitted he had only just learnt to swim and had managed to shave 10 seconds off his previous best time.Despite coming last, viewers clamoured to congratulate the 23-year-old as he revealed he hadn't previously learnt to swim, being too self-conscious about his weight during school.

Before his mammoth weight loss, Colson admitted that he would drink about five pints of fizzy drinks and had weighed 140kg before taking up running.

The biggest praise came from his Corrie co-star with Toyah Battersby actress Georgia Taylor who sweetly posted on Tuesday night: "@colsonsmith you’re my hero #TheGames."Tony Maudsley, who plays George Shuttleworth on the cobbles, commented: "So full of admiration for @colsonsmith knocking it out of the park for Weatherfield in #TheGames on @itv at 9pm every night this week!
