Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley has confirmed the name of her baby girl weeks after giving birth. The actress welcomed her little girl with her husband Tom Pitfield on April 19 as they made their family of three, with son Archie, 7, a little family of four.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, Catherine has now revealed that her daughter's name is Iris - a name which Catherine has had in the back of her mind for "years" after a role she previously played.
The 38-year-old said: "I've had the name Iris for years. A while back I played a character called Iris Moss in the BBC drama Lilies and I have loved it ever since then." Her first name isn't the only sweet tribute either, with Catherine confirming that her middle name also has a hidden meaning.
Iris Ella is a nod to the name Catherine fell in love with when she played the role, alongside a sweet tribute to her husband Tom's late grandmother.
