BEVERLEY Callard has landed herself a new comedy role, less than two years after saying her goodbyes to the cobbles. The former Corrie icon is taking on the role of Pauline in Gold's recently announced comedy Newark, Newark.
Every die-hard Coronation Street fan knows Liz McDonald, the reliable Rovers barmaid notably known for her tumultuous relationship with Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson).
But while her character left the cobbled streets of Weatherfield in favour of a new life in Spain in June, 2020, TV fans have not seen the last of the actress who has portrayed her on-and-off since 1989, Beverley Callard.
In December, 2021, she was announced in the line-up of Newark, Newark, a brand new comedy programme due on the air in March, 2022.
