Coronation Street star Alan Halsall looked totally unrecognisable during one of his first ever TV appearances. The actor is now famed for playing mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap - but Tyrone wasn’t the first character he played on the famous Weatherfield cobbles.Instead, he kicked off his Corrie career back in 1996 for a single episode stint as an unnamed boy, before finally being introduced as Tyrone two years later in 1998. He appeared as Trevor Chivers for four episodes of rival soap Heartbeat from 1998 until 1999, the brother of Stuart Chivers. And he’s looked pretty different in all of his roles, starting off with an unearthed appearance as David Hartley in Hetty Wainthropp Investigates in 1997, where Alan was just a young lad.Aged just 15 at the time, in his inaugural episode Alan was seen wrapped in a blue terrycloth dressing gown with a white t-shirt, his hair neatly parted at one side.Though he still had the look of a young Tyrone, his appearance as such a young teen will certainly shock viewers who are used to seeing him as the seasoned garage worker.Meanwhile, when Alan appeared in Heartbeat a year later, he could be seen as a school student dressed to the nines in uniform composed of a blue striped tie, white shirt and crisp black blazer. He opted for the more traditional fringe and middle parting as he gave some lip back to the teachers - and the transformation into his Corrie character went a step further. In his long career, Alan has also appeared in everything from Children’s Ward to Stanton Blues and Queer As Folk. For more of the latest showbiz news from Daily.
