Cops have launched a probe after a man was rushed to hospital after an assault in Edinburgh. Officers raced to the scene at Giles Street, Leith, around 9pm on Monday night, January 2, after they were alerted.

A 35-year-old man was rushed to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, Edinburgh Live reports.Police have launched an inquiry into the incident.An image shows three police vehicles and an ambulance on the residential street.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9pm on Monday, 2 January, 2023, police were called to a report of a man assaulted in Giles Street, Edinburgh."Officers attended and a 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and later released."Police enquiries are ongoing."
