A HOST of famous names have paid tribute to rapper Coolio following his death at the age of 59. The musician who was responsible for hit 1990s song Gangsta's Paradise, died on Wednesday afternoon.
The rapper, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey Jr, was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor of a friend's house in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
Hollywood star Michelle Pfeiffer said she was “heartbroken” over the news, having met him when he recorded his hit song for her 1995 film Dangerous Minds.
It went on to become one of the most successful rap songs of all time and topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks winning Coolio the Grammy for best rap solo performance in 1996.
