Stockport's planning committee turned down plans to expand Bredbury Park industrial estate into the Tame Valley at a meeting on Thursday night (March 25).
The project could have seen 'giant' warehouses built on up to 93,000sq m of green belt land over two phases, just over the border from Tameside.
But there were major concerns that lorries would need to travel through Denton to access the site - adding more air pollution to the town.
