Edward Regan Murphy (born April 3, 1961) is an American actor, comedian, and singer.

Murphy was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984. He has worked as a stand-up comedian and was ranked No. 10 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.

In films, Murphy has received Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances in 48 Hrs., the Beverly Hills Cop series, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor, and Dolemite Is My Name. In 2007, he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls.

Coming to America actor Louie Anderson has passed away following a battle with blood cancer.The 68-year-old star was recently being treated for Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in a Vegas hospital.It was announced that Louie had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and was undergoing treatment earlier this month.His publicist has told TMZ that he died on Friday morning.Throughout his three-decade long career, Louie became known as one of America's most beloved comics.He was previously named as "One of 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time" by Comedy Central.Louie is best known for his role as Mom Baskets on Zach Galifianakis' comedy series Baskets and starring in Coming to America alongside Eddie Murphy.Heartbroken fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to the star.Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Real sad to hear about Louis Anderson passing.
