Jordan Spieth to claim the Claret Jug on his first ever Open appearance. The impressive 24-year-old was out in the final pairing at Royal St George's today alongside former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, who started with a shot advantage.
That soon evaporated on the fourth hole when the South African hit his first bogey, with Morikawa jumping into a two-shot lead by the seventh thanks to another dropped shot from Oosthuizen and the American's first birdie of the day.He went on to birdie the eighth and ninth holes, building what looked like an unassailable lead over the chasing pack.
But former Masters, US Open and Open champion Spieth wasn't giving up the fight that easily, making an incredible eagle on eight before picking up birdies at.
