Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.Clydesdale Bank’s Dumbarton branch is set to close later this year, after being kept open during the coronavirus lockdown.The High Street branch was originally meant to close its doors in May, however proposals were put on hold by owners Virgin Money when the lockdown was introduced in March to ensure customers had access to local banking services.Any hopes that the reprieve could be permanent have now been dashed however, with Virgin Money confirming that branches were to start closing from August.
The exact closing date of the Dumbarton store is still to be confirmed.The news means that Clydesdale customers in Dumbarton and the Vale will now have to travel more.
