Youngsters from Manchester, Leeds and London will form part of a pilot St John Ambulance scheme before the project is rolled out across the country next year, The Mirror reports.

The charity’s boss says up to 80 percent of some children in deprived areas have “seen a violent incident” while “85 percent believe their peers carry knives for protection”.
