Chelsea are reportedly looking to hijack Manchester United's move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.United have been in talks with the La Liga giants for more than a month over a deal, with fans growing more and more frustrated as the days roll on.It is thought Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is keen to reunite with De Jong, the player who he believes to be the centrepiece of their midfield going forward.

Spanish publication SPORT report the midfielder is owed a huge sum by his current club as he deferred a big lump of his salary when the pandemic struck.The 25-year-old was supposed to be paid the remainder of his money across the rest of his current contract, which runs in 2026.
