It’s not quite how it was, but the FA Cup final between Leicester City and Chelsea heralds English football’s next step back to normality for fans.
Over 20,000 have flocked to Wembley for Saturday’s showpiece event. The meeting between the Premier League duo is the latest Government pilot sports event as part of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.
The Duke of Cambridge joins 6,250 supporters of both sides, as well as local residents and key workers for the final between Thomas Tuchel’s Champions League finalists and Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes.
Some supporters of the latter wore fancy dress fox costumes, while fans of both sported traditional silver tinfoil FA Cup replicas as they made their way down Wembley Way.
