A CHARITY appeal to raise money to support Dancing On Ice star Sean Rice's wife Jodeyne reaches £12,000 in donation after his death at 49.

The Canadian ice skater - who took part in the ITV skating competition from 2011 to 2012 as a professional teacher - tragically passed away last Friday.

Fellow skater Frankie Poultney - who appeared alongside him on DOI - confirmed the news of Rice's passing on Twitter with his fans.

She said: "Pro skaters are heartbroken today, we lost a true larger than life great - an epic skater, a husband, father, and my friend of 20 years." "Gone too soon, but we will love you for a thousand years," she concluded the emotional post - as fans flooded the comments to share their heartbreak.
