Financial Times states streaming service DAZN are mightily close to securing a deal to buy BT Sport. It might come as a surprise to many but the word from London is that the communications giant wants out of commercial sport to focus on its fledgling 5G mobile network and broadband, areas of the business sought after by more than just football lovers and which don't require lavish rights negotiations every few years.
DAZN, meanwhile, clearly have eyes for England's Premier League and BT's exclusive Champions League rights.
