Ricky Gervais
Ricky Dene Gervais (born 25 June 1961) is an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, film producer, director and musician. He is perhaps best known for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office (2001–2003). He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019), as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2007, he was placed at No. 11 on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups and at No. 3 on the updated 2010 list. In 2010, he was named on the Time 100 list of the world's most influential people.

Celebs join Ricky Gervais in calling for change in law to stop spiralling dog theft

Celebs including Ricky Gervais are supporting a campaign to stop the dog theft crisis in the UK. Dogs and their owners are coming together this weekend for the world’s largest online ‘DogZoom’ rally to raise awareness about pet theft.

Other stars backing the event include David Walliams, Sara Cox and Clare Balding. The rally, organised by Liz Webster with Stolen And Missing Pets Alliance and Doglost, will kick off Pet Theft Awareness Week to highlight the spiralling dog theft crisis in the hope the Government will act to protect pets.

Animal lover Gervais, who has recorded a special message for the rally, says: “Sunday March 14 is Dog Theft Awareness Day and dogs really need your help. "Dog theft is up.
