Casa Bonita, Landmark Colorado Restaurant Featured in 'South Park,' Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Casa Bonita, the iconic Colorado restaurant featured in South Park, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The enormous Mexican restaurant, which features an arcade, cave andwaterfall withcliff divers, among other attractions,filed for Chapter 11 protection in Arizona on April 6, according to local news, citing court documents.

Therestaurant has been shuttered for some time due to the pandemic. A GoFundMe has been created which thus far has raised $16,000.

Court documents statethe company that owns Casa Bonita, Summit Family Restaurants', noncontingent liquated debts are below $7.5 million, according to local news.

It remains unclear if the location will reopen. Therestaurant opened in Lakewood, Colorado in 1974. A beloved childhood location.
