Caroline denied the claims, as did Lewis. A Christmas Eve court hearing heard prosecutors claim police officers had arrived at a scene "like a horror movie." Now reports claim that she wanted to confess so that she could "get on with her life." Caroline took her own life in February this year - three weeks before the date the Crown Prosecution Service set for her trial.
Friends of Caroline told Daily Star Online that she "desperately wanted to plead guilty", because she "thought it would mean she could move on with her life.
