Carol Vorderman entertained the nation for 26 years on Channel 4’s Countdown, with the brainbox appearing in almost 5,000 episodes.
Now, the former presenter has spoken of her earlier years on the show, including memories of her fellow co-stars.The 60-year-old mathematician was responsible for delivering Countdown’s often difficult mathematics questions, alongside the famous Countdown Conundrum.Carol appeared alongside hosts Richard Whiteley, who fronted the show from the beginning until July 2005, Des Lynam and Des O’Connor.However, the game show that originated from the French quiz show, Des chiffres et des lettres [Numbers and Letters], was originally commissioned under the name Calendar Countdown, as part of the Yorkshire news.
