Residents at a care home have been striking up a friendship with local primary school students as part of a heartwarming pen pal programme.
Year 6 students at St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School have been sharing stories with the residents at Hazelmere House Bupa Care Home in Wilmslow as part of a school project.
The students, currently learning about World War II, have been hearing first-hand from residents who lived through the Blitz, experienced food rationing and were part of the mass evacuation programme.
