Police are hunting vandals who torched a car and dumped it on a popular Dundee golf course. Shocking pictures show the burnt out vehicle nose down in a burn on the Caird Park course.

It is the latest in a string of attacks at the popular city club. Last year a number of incidents involving quad bikers and motocross riders were reported to police. They caused significant damage to greens and fairways that have taken months to prepare for competitions and local golfers to enjoy. The latest attack resulted in a car being dumped and torched on the 12th fairway. It is not yet clear who owns the vehicle or whether it had been reported stolen.A club spokesman said: “We have had months and month of damage and we have been asking for something to be done for ages.“What we need is more CCTV and constant surveillance so that these vandals can be caught as soon as they start.”And he added: “In recent weeks there has been even more damage with the 14th and 16th fairways in particular being targeted.“There is lots of damage caused by motorbikes but more recently there has been a quad bike making a real mess.”DundeeLive brings you the latest headlines from Dundee and beyond. But did you know you all the ways you can stay informed with us?You can get our top stories sent straight to your inbox with our daily news updates.
