Canada's actors union, ACTRA, has named Olivia Nuamah to lead its inclusion and diversity efforts in a newly-created post. Nuamah has been tapped as ACTRA's national director of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
She will help ramp up ACTRA's efforts to ensure more diverse representation on film and TV screens. Her hire comes as traditional entertainment content producers are looking to change past practices amid an industry-wide reckoning with systemic racism by diversifying creative teams and content.
