Caitlyn Marie Jenner (born William Bruce Jenner; October 28, 1949) is an American television personality and retired Olympic gold medal–winning decathlete.
Jenner played college football for the Graceland Yellowjackets before incurring a knee injury that required surgery. Convinced by Olympic decathlete Jack Parker's coach, L. D. Weldon, to try the decathlon, Jenner won the men's decathlon event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, setting a third successive world record and gaining fame as "an all-American hero".
Given the unofficial title of "world's greatest athlete", Jenner established a career in television, film, writing, auto racing, business, and as a Playgirl cover model.
Caitlyn Jenner has released her first campaign video as she ups the ante on becoming the next Governor of California but it has been overshadowed by her name being misspelled.
The 71-year-old former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is looking to replace Gavin Newsom as the state's Governor and in her first political video, Caitlyn describes herself as a "disrupter".
The reality star will be feeling a little embarrassed though after her team undermined her political efforts so far by spelling Caitlyn's name as "Cailyn".
The I am Cait star announced last month her intentions to run for office but the Kardashian sisters and her daughters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, have not backed her campaign as yet.
