Drivers won't face fresh pain at the pump as the Budget promises another year of fuel duty freezes. Fuel duty will remain at roughly 58p a litre, where it has remained on ice for the past decade.
The duty was held for the tenth year running in today's Budget. Chancellor Rishi Sunak confirmed the long-anticipated move to MPs as he outlined his plan in the Commons today.
While the freeze is due to keep motorists' wallets stocked, it is tearing an ever bigger hole in the Government's pocket. The average car driver has saved around £1,200 each over the past decade of fuel duty freezes.
