Earlier this month British intelligence called out Russia's usage of white phosphorous in the Donbas region of Eastern Ukraine and warned it could be used on Mariupol, reports Declassified UK.
Although there is no evidence British forces are deliberately using white phosphorous on civilians, an internal army reports states that live fire exercises are taking place in areas “frequented by farmers, villagers and nomadic tribes-people”.Kenny MacAskill MP, who revealed its use in Kenya, said: “The dangers of white phosphorus are well documented and have caused injury and misery in many conflicts.“That it should be used in training exercises near where civilians are located or through where they’ll pass is highly dangerous.
