YouTuber who was "thrown in a Russian gulag" and interrogated for slagging off Vladimir Putin changed tack and then praised the war monger in a bid to be freed from jail.
Benjamin Rich, the man behind the Bald & Bankrupt channel, was stopped at a train station in Russia and brought to a police station before being chucked into a cell for "a few days" earlier this month.
Rich lost his case in court and was chucked out of the country – banned from returning after being interrogated on camera about calling Putin "crazy" and providing a link to a Ukrainian fundraiser. However, he has now told the Daily Star that he did this as a ploy to secure his release from prison."I criticised Putin and the war, got sent to court and told if I didn’t grovel I’d get a few years in the gulag.
