Britain has demanded more compromises from Brussels amid renewed hopes of a Brexit trade deal. The UK welcomed an olive branch from EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier – but called for “a fundamental change of approach” to talks to trigger a breakthrough.
It came after a telephone call between Mr Barnier and British counterpart Lord David Frost in which the European diplomat offered to “intensify” negotiations.
