Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Brendan Rodgers is the most talented British boss around. Despite the acrimony from fans when he left the club for Leicester City in February 2019, his accomplishments back in England since have led to an even greater standing in the game.
His side are on the verge of the Champions League, smashing a glass ceiling imposed by the so-called big six and their greater revenues, while also reaching the FA Cup Final where they'll meet Chelsea on May 15.
Some Rangers fans might plump for Steven Gerrard as their choice after breaking the nine-year stranglehold their rivals had on the league title, one that Rodgers strengthened immeasurably between his arrival in 2016 and his departure just under three years later.
