A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an “attack” at his home in a sleepy Yorkshire village. The 46-year-old was rushed to hospital with in critical condition following the incident in Thurnscoe, Barnsley last Thursday.
Emergency services had been scrambled to the house at 4.30pm in the afternoon. But it has now been announced he tragically died three days later on Sunday.
A 29-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of his murder is currently in police custody. Two other men, aged 31 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been bailed while investigations continue.
South Yorkshire Police are still appealing for information about the circumstances surrounding how the man came to be injured.
