Boy, 16, stabbed in suspected gang attack in Cheetham Hill

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed in a suspected gang attack in Cheetham Hill. Police said initial enquiries suggested a 'small group of men on bikes' were in the area around the time.

The boy, who hasn't been named, was taken to hospital from the scene with multiple wounds at 6.20pm tonight - Tuesday. His condition in hospital was described by Greater Manchester Police as 'serious but stable' tonight.

Police officers on patrol in a car came across the teenager lying injured on Smedley Lane, Cheetham Hill, and immediately gave him first aid.

The force said an ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds. Two males have been arrested.
