A schoolboy has been charged with attempted murder after a girl was discovered with stab wounds in a park. The 16-year-old girl was found in a field with serious stab wounds and rushed to hospital.
She was found with serious injuries just after 8am on Thursday July 22 before paramedics rushed her to a London hospital where she remains.
A 16-year-old boy, who was known to the victim, was arrested on Thursday and charged with attempted murder following the brutal attack in a field off of Highsted Road, Sittingbourne, Kent.
The schoolboy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody before his next appearance in court on July 26.
