Boxing great Michael Watson looks fighting fit after turning 55. The former Commonwealth middleweight champion appeared back to his best while buying his lunch.
Watson took seven years to recover after suffering a near-fatal brain injury in a bout against Chris Eubank in 1991. So fans were delighted to see him out and about, picking up some grub from Tony’s Pie & Mash shop in Waltham Abbey, Essex.
A source close to Watson told the Daily Star Sunday: “Fans said seeing him lifted their spirits – how wonderful it was to see him a picture of health and happiness as he greeted them.” Eubank felled Watson with a devastating 11th-round uppercut.
