theft took place in Denver in the US state of Colorado after the criminal broke into truck and nicked a box which was marked "exempt human specimen".Police say someone broke into the truck near 23rd and Syracuse Street in the city's Central Park neighbourhood on Thursday morning (March 3).The human heads were in the custody of Science Care, a body and body parts donation company used to help improve scientific research and education.Local resident Isaac Fields commented on the "shocking" situation to Fox21.
He said: "I guess I don't see too many strange things happening around here usually, but you never know." Isaac says he was walking his dog, Margot, in the area when the theft took place.
There are fears that if the human heads are recovered they may no longer be able to be used in medical research, especially if the specimens have not been refrigerated.Police have yet to make an arrest and Science Care are yet to comment on the theft.
Local residents are curious whether the culprits were specifically targeting the human heads of simply grabbed the first item they saw.
