Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Boris Johnson’s choice to be the next leader of the World Trade Organisation has been eliminated from the race. Former International Trade Secretary Liam Fox has dropped out of the race to lead the World Trade Organisation today as officials whittle down the field from five candidates to two.

The Brexiteer's failed bid will come as a cruel blow to Downing Street, which had thrown the full weight of Britain's diplomatic efforts into securing Dr Fox the post.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, of Nigeria, and Yoo Myung-hee, of South Korea, are set to proceed to the final round of the selection process, according to sources, putting the Geneva-based body on course to appoint its first female director-general.
