Changes to the job retention scheme are due to be introduced from Thursday before it comes to an end in September. From July 1, employers will have to pick up 10 per cent of their furloughed workers’ salaries following the easing of coronavirus restrictions in recent months.
The furlough contribution from employers is due to rise after that date to 20 per cent in August and September, with the scheme closing before October.
It comes after all remaining lockdown measures were due to be lifted on June 21 - but the government announced a delay due to the rising Delta
