Dundee shopping centre sparked multiple street closures as emergency services raced to the scene. Police were called to the Overgate Shopping Centre in the Nethergate area of the city at around 3.15pm on Wednesday after the alarm was raised.
A number of road blocks were put in place by officers with public buses being temporarily diverted while the incident was dealt with.
The suspect item, understood to be a suitcase, was found to contain ‘discarded, broken items’ which officers say posed no danger to the public.All affected roads have since been reopened however bus operator Xplore Dundee have warned of ‘residual delays’ to services.The Daily Record and Sunday Mail have always been at the forefront when it comes to reporting crime in.
