Russian soldiers have gone viral on Twitter for the wrong reasons after they were filmed running around on the Ukrainian frontline with no body armour and a "baseball bat bomb."In the short clip, the Russian squadron can be seen jogging through a shelled-out town and to shelter behind ruins. One of the grinning soldiers is shown to be carrying a plank of wood that has been heavily strapped up with what appears to be some sort of plastic explosive.None of the soldiers are wearing body armour and strangely all of them are grinning as they manoeuvre through the area.

Sharing the strange clip, which is believed to have been shot near the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, defence journalist OSINTtechnical said: "Russian forces moving near the Azovstal plant in Mariupol with some interesting improvised explosive devices."Appears to be bricks of plastic explosives wrapped around a wooden plank."Naturally, the group's efforts didn't go undiscussed on the app with many people questioning the brains of the group. One person said: "What on earth would you use this for?!"Another agreed: "No armour either ...soon corpses."Another thought they looked a tad too happy considering how Putin's war had gone thus far.

They said: "They look quite happy and motivated. So far I heard, that the motivation in Russian troops is not so well."But some military know-it-alls actually explained what the device was for, and tellingly it's not as exciting as you'd think.

One person said: "They first make a joke about it being a baseball bat and the explosives make it a more powerful baseball bat.
