Billy Joe Saunders' trainer Mark Tibbs has outlined his role in their defeat to Canelo Alvarez as the Brit faces accusations of quitting.
The 31-year-old saw his undefeated record ended by the Mexican in Dallas earlier this month. Canelo won by a TKO after an uppercut in the ninth round busted open Saunders' eye and immediately caused it to swell up.
He made it to his corner but before the tenth round began Tibbs called off the fight. Saunders, who was critical of Daniel Dubois for doing the same thing in his loss to Joe Joyce in November last year, has been ridiculed following the defeat.
But Tibbs has since clarified what occurred insisting he was responsible for his welfare and clclaredearing up the involvement of Ben Davison, Tyson
