BILL Turnbull has announced he will be stepping away from his Classic FM radio show to focus on his health. The former BBC Breakfast presenter, 65, has been living with prostate cancer since 2018 and confirmed the news on Twitter today.

The broadcaster revealed that the road "has been a bit bumpy recently" but promised to return to the airways once he gets his health back on track.

He shared: “With great regret I am taking a leave of absence from my show at Classic FM for health reasons. "The road has been a bit bumpy recently, and I need to take some time to focus on getting better. “I’m sorry to do this, as I absolutely love doing the programme, and have hugely enjoyed the past five years.
