Bill Bailey has revealed he tried to enter the Eurovision Song Contest once before, but was turned down by the BBC for being "too silly".The Strictly Come Dancing 2020 champion tweeted to say that he wanted to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest after James Newman's disastrous nil points last place effort, and has told Good Morning Britain that James's song was "underwhelming", adding that he had written his own entry previously.
Incredibly, the BBC told Bill that his spoof eco anthem was "too silly" to be considered for the contest, which is known for its bizarre performances and novelty songs.
