Manchester United fans are fuming with David de Gea for his role in Arsenal's controversial opener. England forward Emile Smith Rowe made it advantage Arsena l only 13 minutes into the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford - but it was not without question marks.
After colliding with United teammate Fred, long-serving Spain goalkeeper de Gea was floored in his own penalty area when Smith Rowe added the finishing touch from long-range.
It was a goal which needed intervention and a double check on the much-maligned VAR system. However, upon consulting technology before making a decision, referee Martin Atkinson allowed it to stand.
