A bid to pause work on the controversial redevelopment of Wigan town centre has been dismissed amid rowdy scenes at a council meeting.
The £190M redevelopment of the Galleries shopping centre, which opened around 30 years ago, would see most of the area demolished, along with Wigan Market.
Plans passed last month are set to see a replacement market hall built more centrally, along with town centre homes, employment space and leisure and dining attractions.
