Britain's Got Talent has seen every conceivable type of act over the years, from dancing dogs to ghosts. Each week, fans tune in to see the contestants wow the famous judges and the packed theatre audiences with their talents.Sometimes, however, even the most well-rehearsed routine can go horribly wrong with the audition being broadcast to millions of viewers at home, often sitting on the edge of their sofas. As the auditions continue, Daily Star Showbiz takes a look at some of the most terrifying BGT accidents and injuries over the course of the show's 15 years, airing on ITV.Many acts have been inspired by legendary escapologist Harry Houdini, with Andrew Basso, 36, being the latest one.Arriving on stage wearing a dressing gown, he soon stripped down to a pair of black pants and was soon wearing handcuffs, which were secured by a willing Amanda Holden. The Italian-born escapologist was then suspended upside down and submerged in a padlocked water tank, named the Water Torture Cell. After 30 seconds he had one hand free and after one minute both hands are free.
But as the seconds ticked by, the audience became increasingly nervous as it looked like the escapologist was trapped. As the time hit two minutes 30 seconds, Basso still has to unlock the tank as Dec says to Ant: "I don't like this."He eventually freed the locked door and received four yeses from the judges, whose nerves were shredded by the close call.
Knife throwing is a risky act, which is part of the appeal, but when Edward Pinder,11, asked Simon Cowell to join him on stage, it all went wrong.
A nervous Simon stood in front of a board while Edward threw giant blades at him.On his second throw, Edward accidentally hit Simon.
